The Japa Roller firewood cleaner uses small metal discs to clean your firewood. It is compatible with all Japa firewood processors. However, it can also be used as a standalone cleaner that cleans your wood. The Japa Roller is hydraulically powered, using hoses with quick couplers. These can connect to your Japa (or other) firewood processor.
There are separate speed controls for the disc tine speed and conveyor. And the tine shafts rotate at different speeds. This allows your wood to accelerate as it moves along the cleaner, getting more dirt and debris off. The slew angle on the outfeed conveyor, conveyor speed, and height and angle of the cleaner are all adjustable. As a result, you can fully adjust your entire operation.
A large metal hopper allows you to dump firewood into the roller from above. As wood is fed through the Japa roller, the debris and dirt will fall through to gaps of the rotating blades.
Powering Your Cleaner
As previously mentioned, the Japa Roller is hydraulically powered. It comes with Ag style quick connect hydraulic couplers, which are some of the most common couplers used in agriculture and construction. This allows you to connect it to any of our Japa firewood processors, as well as any other processor with this style of couplers.
Many customers have had success powering their cleaner with the BravePro Hydra-Buddy Hydraulic Power Pack, which is available here: https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200666108_200666108
It can also be powered by a combustion engine pack – please contact us for more information.
Cleaning Your Wood
Underneath the rollers, there are two metal panels that will direct where the debris falls. These can be setup with a bag, or bin, to collect the debris. As a result, the Japa Roller has more functionality than just cleaning your firewood.
There are a few different ways this can be used. For starters, if there is a lot of kindling mixed in with your firewood, this firewood cleaner makes it easy to separate it and collect it. Then you can easily include consistent kindling with any firewood bundles you sell. Or, you can bag the kindling and sell it separately.
On the other hand, if you process a lot of dirty wood you can easily collect and move the dirt. Likewise, any rotten wood that fell apart will be easier to sort out from the rest of your wood. As a result, you give your customers a better end product. On top of that, it is easier to get rid of, or use, the debris.
In conclusion, the Japa Roller firewood cleaner will make a great addition to any workflow. However, if you are interested in a different style of firewood cleaner, check out the Japa Cleaner, a drum style cleaner.
